For his red shorts, check thrift stores or Poshmark. His green t-shirt can be found at any craft store if you don’t have one already. ![]() Not the most iconic companion for Ash, but definitely one of the easiest to cosplay. (Photo credit – Superhero and Villain Wiki) But whether you prefer lime or forest green, different shades of green in your wardrobe can lead to some cool, cost-effective closet cosplays (say that five times fast!). It’s a very festive color, with people wearing it for both Christmas and St. Green can be a fun color to wear outside of cosplay. (Photo credit – John Mantell Photography) Closet Cosplays by Color: Green Would you ever cosplay any of these characters? What are you working on right now? Let me know in the comments below! ![]() Add a platinum blonde wig and some blue lipstick and you’re guaranteed to get recognized at a con (whenever they come back).įeeling blue is often seen as a negative, but now’s the time to embrace it and use it as an excuse to get creative with your next cosplay. (Photo credits – Hollywood Leather Jackets and MK Jackets )If you’re really on a budget or time crunch, you honestly just need a blue leather or denim jacket, black pants, and a top in either of those colors and you’ll be good to go. Then you can either paint the logo or print it onto the shirt using vinyl. Uzaki-chan wears a LOT of blue, and you can find the base shirt for the Sugoi Dekai outfit at either Joann or Micheals. I’ve heard some… interesting things about this series, but if you need an easy cosplay, why not. (Photo credit – Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Wiki) Hana Uzaki ( Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!) Then you can buy arm sleeves separately or cut them off another shirt to add onto your cosplay. But these tunics could be made the same way as Link’s, though I personally would go with fabric paint this time. I was originally only going to include Eugeo, but upon second glance Kirito’s could pass for a navy blue. Kirito/Eugeo ( Sword Art Online: Alicization) The rest of the outfit can be found at any thrift store if you’re missing pieces. Since the lining on Link’s tunic is thinner, fabric paint might be the way to go, though bias tape may also work if folded up. Link ( Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)Īny oversized blue t-shirt could be used as a base for this. Then you can add the red stripes using either stretchy fabric, bias tape, or fabric paint. I’d recommend starting with a blue athletic zip-up as your base – the fabric has a glint to it that better fits the anime aesthetic, and the collar would be easier to fold into the shape you want. I’ve seen shirts like Elena’s at Old Navy. I took some creative liberties with this entry to provide options for everyone – these recommendations would work better for solo cosplayers (pairs may want to coordinate and pick outfits from the same game to maintain continuity in photoshoots). Nathan Drake/Elena Fisher ( Uncharted 4/3) Her season six transformation was almost added to this entry, except the sleeves are kind of ridiculous – just like season six. The collar would be the trickiest part, but you can hem and sew on some extra fabric into the desired shape. But Icy’s casual outfit from season one is pretty straightforward. While Winx Club offers plenty of cosplay-worthy fashion (check out my list here), the Trix are sometimes overlooked in favor of their fairy counterparts. Is it just me, or does adult Tai look like a knock-off Spike Spiegel? Must be the hair. Tai is next on the list because his (original) outfit can be put together the same way as Ash’s – taking a blue t-shirt and sewing on the decorative extras. You can use any blue t-shirt as the base for the jacket, and throw on any black shirt and pair of jeans to finish the bulk of the costume. Ash Ketchum ( Pokémon)Īlmost all of Ash’s outfits have some blue in them, but this one is A) the most iconic, and B) the easiest to make. The bunny hat will take a quick online search to find, but you’re already in good shape. You probably already have the top or bottoms in your wardrobe already, but even if you need both, they’re easy to find at any thrift store or mainstream retailer. Finn/Fionna ( Adventure Time)Īdventure Time’s simple designs make the series very cosplay-friendly for beginners. Blue arguably has the best range of shades, from cerulean to royal blue – any of which would make your cosplay pop. But you can channel that into making some great closet cosplays from home, as blue is such an easy color to coordinate with. ![]() It’s no secret that the pandemic has left many of us feeling blue. ![]()
